"What is Coworking?
The idea is simple: independent professionals and those with workplace flexibility work better together than they do alone. Coworking spaces are about community-building and sustainability. Participants agree to uphold the values set forth by the movement’s founders, as well as interact and share with one another. We are about creating better places to work and as a result, a better way to work."
"Missing a train is only painful if you run after it! Likewise, not matching the idea of success others expect from you is only painful if that’s what you’re seeking."
— Nassim Nicholas Taleb
In my stumblings around the interweb I find a lot of…well STUFF…that I like and want to share. This STUFF doesn’t require a full blog post, and is often longer than 140 characters. So, here I am.
The quote I started with is something from the incredible Rima Staines. I love how she sums up my own feelings about technology, the internet, making money, and being a luddite with a dilemma. I may not be an artist, but I share her trepidation and desire to live out of reach of the flood of information - only to be pulled back in by the need to earn a ‘living.’
So, again, here I am. I’ll figure out exactly what I’m doing here eventually. If we’re lucky it’ll take a while. And in the meantime, I hope you enjoy the STUFF I feel like sharing.
"I am a Luddite with a dilemma. The internet democratizes information like never before, it enables me to create my unusual art and sell it direct to folks who are moved by it, without the need to convince somebody with money/gallery/publishing house to endorse me. I am stuck between a very real desire to live off-grid in a hut in the woods with a brambled but well-trodden path the only means of communication, and the fact that I live in a world that requires us to pay for things and therefore requires me to earn money."
